True Story was born from a deep conviction that every child deserves to know the greatest story ever told. Its founder, Stephen Hogue, has spent much of his life investing in children and families. After he and his wife, Sandra, struggled with infertility for seven years, they sensed God leading them down a different path. They entered the foster care system with the hope of adopting, only to discover the overwhelming needs of vulnerable children and the families who care for them.
In 2013, Stephen and Sandra stepped away from secure careers to become full-time missionaries, dedicating their lives to serving foster children, equipping churches, and strengthening families. Over the years, they have fostered numerous children, adopted ten into their own family, and witnessed firsthand the life-changing impact that happens when the Church embraces its calling.
That same passion is what gave birth to True Story. Stephen believes that the greatest need of every child isn’t simply better entertainment or more information—it’s an encounter with the transforming truth of God’s Word. Through worship music, videos, curriculum, creative media, and resources for churches and families, True Story exists to help children discover that the Bible is one unified story pointing to Jesus—and that they have a place in God’s story, too.
